On 7 June 2019 we at Iceberg are coming to work in our PJs. We would love it if you would sponsor us to raise funds to help BookTrust and give every child a bedtime story.

If you would like to join us in our little adventure and wear your PJs that day then we will add £10 to the total if you post a photo of you and your team on our Facebook page that day.

What is Pyjamarama?

Pyjamarama is going to be a magical day where children and adults
can join Matilda, Ben & Holly, Horrid Henry and Tracy Beaker, and
stay in pyjamas all day long and celebrate bedtime reading with their
friends. There’s no planning needed and no costumes to make. All you
need to do is roll out of bed, wear your PJs all day long on 7 June!

Why are we running it?

At Iceberg, we love Book Trust!  

Book Trust wants every child to have the good start in life that reading brings. But too many children never experience the joy of a
bedtime story. Whether it’s children living in poverty, children in foster
care, children whose parents struggle with reading themselves, or
children with additional needs, we want to reach them all
– and with your help, we can.

How will your money help? 

The goal is to help children to snuggle up and experience the warmth, joy and comfort of bedtime reading, and to get excited about books, rhymes and stories. We don’t want a single child to miss out on
the benefits of reading because we know that a child
that reads more, achieves more.

Iceberg and Book Trust passionately believes that these benefits should be available to all children: those in care, those with additional needs or those in families facing economic hardship. Each year they reach families and children through health centres, libraries, schools, food banks and children’s centres with books, resources and support. Your fundraising efforts will mean they can reach even more families and children, helping us to make sure that no child misses out on a bedtime story.

What are the numbers? 

£25 could provide 15 pre-school children living in a women's refuge centres with their very own book pack 

£50 could provide 6 families from deprived communities with additional support through their children's centre to develop confidence in reading

£100 could help Book Trust work with a struggling secondary school to support teenagers to re-engage with reading.
