Emily Radford is raising money for Young Epilepsy

IJM Isle of Wight Teen 2022 · 9 January 2022

Young Epilepsy is dedicated to standing up for children and young people with epilepsy. We’re here for them. But we need your support because epilepsy is limiting the chances of thousands of children today and may continue to do so for the rest of their lives. Together we create possible.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I would love, if you could help support me trying to raise funds for a charity that is really close to mine  and my families heart.  As many of you are aware my brother was seriously ill when he was younger he had a benign brain tumour in his occipital lobe.  Due to positioning of his tumour it caused him to have many seizures daily of various kinds. No medication could control his seizures and they were basically out of control until he underwent brain surgery and had a left occipital lobe lesionectomy, there were many negatives for this surgery one being the risk of him loosing his vision but the main positive was that they could possibly make him 75% seizure free. This was not an easy decision for my family to make, but either way he potentially would never have an independent life so with the support of Young Epilepsy and the other parents and young people involved with Young Epilepsy they made the decision to allow my brother to undergo brain surgery. He is now 100% seizure free and actually lives in America as a student athlete , at one point my parents could only dream of him achieving this much independence. I will be eternally grateful for Young Epilepsy and their supporters in helping my parents with this decision and giving my brother back his life. I thought it would be nice to try and raise funds and give something back to show my appreciation. 💜
