Story
Colin sadly passed away on the 11th December 2022.
After a successful operation to remove an unforeseen brain tumour in September, Colin fought hard to progress along the road to recovery. After a number of difficult set backs, Colin was admitted to St. Ann's Hospice in Little Hulton. Here, the amazing staff made Colin comfortable and lovingly cared for him until his untimely passing.
The wonderful support that St. Ann's Hospice provide to patients and their families at such difficult times and in such difficult circumstances cannot be underestimated. The care that Colin received and the support provided to him and his family is why we would like to make a donation in Colin's memory to this worthy charity.
In life, there's no better way to describe Colin than, "full of beans". He was always smiling and happy to see his friends and family. He would help anyone he could, no matter who they were. He was a dedicated and well loved Cub Scout Leader at 1st Davyhulme Scout Group. He was a keen basketball fan, following Manchester Magic basketball team, as well as a walking basketball enthusiast, playing every Sunday with Manchester Walking Basketball. Colin's other sporting love was football. He would watch any game that was ever on the TV, but his team of choice was of course Manchester United having followed them keenly from a young age. As a lifelong motorbike lover, especially Honda, he was an active member of the Honda Owners Club and was a regular quiz-setter at their social events. His passion over the last few years had been electric cars. An early adopter of the technology, Colin was enormously proud of his latest brand new electric car and avidly kept up with the latest developments in the field.
Colin was fit and active which made this sudden illness all the more surprising and difficult to comprehend.
Colin will be sorely missed by everyone, none more so than his wife, Sandra, and his children, Lorraine and Andrew. He was a kind, loving, and dedicated husband, and a generous, affectionate, and inspirational dad.
