Story

Thanks for taking time to visit this fundraising page in memory of our lovely Dad, grandad, stepdad, brother, uncle and friend, Howard, who sadly passed away on 3rd September. Dad was well liked and respected and always thought of how he could help others. We have been greatly touched by everyone's kind words, memories and actions over the last couple of weeks and hope we can follow in his footsteps. Howard grew up in Cardiff, joining the post office at 15 then working his way through many jobs before settling for over 25 years with Girlings in Cwmbran where he worked in many different departments. After remarrying, then moving to Wiltshire in later years he took a full part in his new community. Dad was Calne Town Mayor in 2009 and 2015, former Town Councillor and a Wiltshire Councillor. He was involved in so many things within the town, including the boxing club, the skate park, the bike meet and setting up Calne in Tune charity. He was also president of the local Rotary Club. Apart from his work with local community groups Howard was a keen musician and in particular loved to play within a group. He even released a single and supported Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas, back in the 60's! We would be so grateful for any donations to help more families achieve better outcomes in the future. Love and hugs Helen and Claire.
