One rainy morning in April, Paul (still on a high from running the London Marathon) casually emailed around to see if anyone would be up for doing the Berlin Inline Skating Marathon ... and little did he know that Aida's love of organising and planning would ensure that within 3 hours of that email (yes 3 hours!) most of us were registered for the marathon and booked on flights to Berlin... and within a few days all 6 of us were all set and ready to go!!
But there were a couple of things we hadn't really thought about (after all, September was still so far away)...

- Anis & Aida ... although quite able to skate, had not done any significant form of exercise (including skating) for more than 8 years and had fitness levels of a sofa

- Paul, Lawry and Abby ... didn't actually know how to skate (!)

- and Claire ... well Claire thinks she is quite good at this skating stuff but we haven't seen any evidence yet :-)

Well here we are with only a couple of months to go and the prospect of rollerblading 26 miles is looking quite daunting for some of us and down right terrifying for others ... but we are rising to the challenge to support this very worthy cause.
