Story
We are Environmental Health students from Ulster University doing this as part of our innovation module. We our working alongside MindWise and raising money to create health and well-being packs to help service users mind their mental health in the Magherafelt area. In these packs we will include a few items and leaflets promoting positive mental health. The current motto for MindWise is ‘Think Family’ therefore these packs will not only be of use to the service users but also to their families . During the current COVID-19 pandemic it is important to protect our mental health and make sure we are not feeling overwhelmed, isolated or feeding our own anxiety. The aim of these packs is to support the local community. As a group we will fundraise to fund the resources for these packs which we all also help to deliver to the service users in the local area. This will take place in December to spread a little Christmas cheer amongst the local community in very unprecedented times.
We are MindWise. Our vision is a world where people affected by mental health issues receive support to lead to a fulfilling life through recovery to discovery. We deliver over 30 key services to more than 1000 people affected by mental health issues every day. We raise awareness and campaign for change. We provide advocacy and advice, and train workplaces to better understand and support good mental health.
