The coronavirus outbreak is the greatest global health emergency of our time. It is affecting the way we all go about our daily lives. The pandemic is impacting communities everywhere and our small home town Batticaloa is not an exception. It's never been more urgent to support our community in these unprecedented times. Since the start of the COVID outbreak, BUDS UK have spent 50,079,00.00 Sri Lankan rupees in COVID related expenses such as dry food, medical equipment, donation to Home for Elders and personal protection equipment. These unexpected expenses along with not being able to have fundraising events have affected BUDS' current available funds to support their ongoing projects. They have to dig deep into their reserves to fund these projects. They are receiving so many requests for help but they do not have enough funds to fulfil all the requests.
