Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was diagnosed in 2012 with breast cancer, and underwent several operations, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Unfortunately in March of this year I received the news that the cancer had spread, having been found late. I'm now just recovering from a further major operation and radiotherapy, and have started a newly-approved targeted cancer drug.
Breast Cancer Care has helped me with many of their services through these challenges, including their website, people like me, booklets and so on.
I had already been selected to be a model at this year's London's Show, and so am really looking forward to taking part to be able to highlight Breast Cancer Care's services. It will be good to swap hospital gowns for something more fashionable. Last year's show was a fantastic event raising over £370,000, which made a vital difference to Breast Cancer Care. The reality is that more than half a million people in the UK have the disease, with another 60,000 being diagnosed each year. Thanks to the generosity of people like you supporting The Show, Breast Cancer Care can provide information, emotional and practical support when they're needed most.
It's also an opportunity to celebrate getting through this latest setback, supported by an amazing group of family and friends, and some incredible care and skill provided by the NHS via the Spinal Team at Royal Liverpool hospital and Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Wirral & Liverpool.
