Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In May 2017 myself and 3 of my friends are walking the southern upland way from east coast to west coast (215miles), the charity that will benefit from your donations are the Dumfries and Galloway Blood Bikes a self funding organisation from public donations. My reason for doing this walk is my daughter had to rely on this service from Aug 15 to Oct 16 to transport her blood sample from Stranraer to Bristol , and without this service we would have to have travelled a 150 mile round trip to get the blood tests. The effect this travelling would have had on our family would have been hard as we have other children and work commitments. This service ensured that we did not have to travel these miles and thus have little disruption on our life, for this we are truly grateful so in return for their help i am giving something back, to help others who could be in our position at some point and need the blood bike service.

About the charity

DGBB is run by volunteers who deliver essential blood and urgent medical supplies between hospitals and healthcare sites in South West Scotland and beyond. DGBB is dependent purely on charitable donations, and run entirely by volunteers who receive no compensation for their time.
