Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Jack recently passed away having had a particularly aggressive stomach cancer.  It came as a shock to all, he was dearly loved by all his family and friends.

We're not flowery people but in place of flowers we'd love to receive donations to our family's preferred charity, Assynt Mountain Rescue team. Jack got to love Sutherland and Caithness through many years spent in the North of Scotland doing what he loved to do helping out his sons.  His love of the locations that his sons had chosen to stay was no secret and we saw lots of him over the years.

As a family we also feel strongly for those in the local community who are struggling in this difficult economic time, if our chosen charity isn't for you then we'd appreciate if you could make a donation to your local food bank instead.

Please leave a message on this page with memories of Jack, a humble man with great dignity and who was much loved.

If you have photographs or videos that include Jack then it would be appreciated if you could share them with us (email rkerr@rp-alba.com) to help us remember his wonderful life. If you wish to be emailed with funeral arrangements (when they are made) then please email rkerr@rp-alba.com for details.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

The primary role of the Assynt Mountain Rescue Team is the provision of search and rescue in mountainous, or inhospitable terrain in North and NW Scotland, for any person who may be injured, or otherwise in need of assistance. The Team are all volunteers from a variety of backgrounds.
