Story
We are a team of 6 raising money for GOSH by doing a 26.2 mile winter walk in London on Sunday 29th January 2023.The team is: Natasha, Denise, Sarah, Gemma, Brogan and Emma. Thank you for reading our story, for any encouragement you can give us or donation that you are able to make.
Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.Jack was born in August 2020 and shortly after his birth the hospital picked up a heart murmur. Initial scans found that Jack had holes in his heart and his pulmonary valve was severely thin which resulted in him being referred to GOSH. Through scans carried out by GOSH it was decided that Jack needed open heart surgery and without this his heart would fail. He had open heart surgery in March 2021 which involved just under 5 hours in surgery, he was then moved into intensive care and stayed on a ward before being discharged home as well as the appointments before and all of the after care that he will receive throughout his childhood. The care plan is that Jack will have regular scans to monitor the valve and we have been told he will need further intervention in the future although we don’t know when; Jack has heart scans to keep monitoring his heart and decide when surgery is needed. Jack will transfer to an adult cardio team when he reaches adulthood. Without the care from GOSH Jack’s prognosis would be very different! We are forever grateful for all they have done and continue to do for Jack. The money the team raises is being donated to the cardiology team at GOSH.We've joined together to raise money for charity. You'll see our team fundraising target on the right. Your donation can really help us smash this goal. Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
