This May I am running the Great Manchester 10km in aid of Home-Start Oldham, Stockport & Tameside (HOST). HOST is a family support charity that recruits and trains volunteers to offer support to families with young children. This ranges from a home-visiting support service to breastfeeding support, all the way to speech & language support and parent-infant mental health work.

I started working for Home-Start more than two years ago, and in that time I've seen the importance of family support, but also the importance of fundraising. In a climate of austerity, it's important that we as individuals try to help where we can. Whilst I've enjoyed on-and-off running for a while, a proper 10km will be a real challenge for me.
