Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Almost 12 months ago I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  Amongst the diagnosis, having major surgery to remove all the breast tissue, healing from the operation then undergoing gruelling chemotherapy treatment.  The COVID Pandemic happened and therefore my children were home schooled for the whole duration of this period.

They saw me loose my hair, they endured me been admitted to hospital with Sepsis and generally saw me not been myself, this is what the treatment was doing to me.  The reason as to why was very clear to them both and they remained ever hopeful that I would make a full recovery.

Moving forward, I have made a complete recovery.  The most sole destroying part of this illness was the question of what if the unthinkable was to happen? what would happen to my wife and kids? how would they cope?

Not every child can tell the same story of their parents survival be it through illness or through conflict, this is the reason I am raising money for this charity.  My children are fortunate to still have me around and for that I will be forever thankful.

I will row a marathon equalling 42,195 meters on Saturday 19th December and all proceeds will go to this amazing charity.  Please help me in donating to this worthwhile cause.
