Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Jade was a fun, brave and kind daughter, sister and friend. She would help anyone and always put others first. She also had a great sense of humour and loved life.
Unfortunately she suffered from health problems and aged 11 was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a rare degenerative form of heart disease. There is currently no cure for this disease. Thankfully due to organ donation she had a heart transplant in 2011. Jade started to make a good recovery but sadly was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and soon after her body rejected the new heart, once again Jade was admitted into hospital. As you may know a heart transplant isn't a cure but it can prolong your life for a few years.
Jade remained under the care of GOSH and over the next three and a half years frequently spent time in hospital.
She remained positive through some of the worst times and never gave up hope. She loved life and hopefully through her Brighter Future Fund others can have a chance to love life as well.
Although GOSH did everything they could to help Jade, she tragically passed away aged 15.
This JustGiving page is way of giving back and enabling other children, like Jade, to receive excellent clinical care on Bear Ward. Your money will also go towards funding vital research and equipment.
