There are 4 of us representing Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and The Firefighters Charity and we are going to be attempting to climb one of the most well known yet most challenging mountains in the world, Mt Kilimanjaro in January 2010.

Mt Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in the world at 5896m. Our trek will take the less trodden Machame route, which will make it a very tough and strenous challenge.

This trek is a 10 day trek through every kind of terrain from dense jungle to the icecapped summit and is in aid of The Firefighters Charity and we each need to raise £2600 for the trek so for the 4 of us it totals at £10,400.

We will be raising this money through various events between now and january, which I will advertise on this page!
