Story
Thank-you for visiting our page, we wish to ask whether you would like to make a make a donation however small to a charitable cause. This summer myself and my friend Jakob Berry are participating in the now world famous Mongol Charity Rally. This year we are trying to raise upwards of 1000 pounds for the Cristina Nobel Children’s Foundation a truly amazing charity. They have a variety of projects in Mongolia that change the lives of kids who would otherwise be on the streets suffering sexual and commercial exploitation. The money that myself and Jake hope to raise will go to supporting the incredible Blue Skies Ger Village in Ulaanbaatar. The Ger Village houses abandoned or homeless children and gives them a second chance in life, it is a safe place for the children to live and essentially gives them their childhood back.
These days no fund raising effort would be complete without a fool-hardy and risky venture and this one is no different. Starting on July the 25th 2011 we will attempt to drive over 9000 miles across some of the toughest terrain imaginable in a vehicle entirely unsuited for the task. Awaiting us will be terrible roads, cultural mine fields and numerous corrupt officials. The route we have planned will see us set off from Goodwood Race Course in west Sussex where we will make our steady way across the world map hopefully ending up in Ulaanbataar. If all goes to roughly to plan we shall pass through many nations including The Czech Republic ,Turkey, Iran, and Turkmenistan. At the end of the rally which should take anything from 3-6 weeks we will donate our car to some Mongolian farmers as is customary.
Thank-you once again for taking the time to read this and we would be immensly grateful for any money you can give to this fantastic charity that has and continues to do so much to improve the lives of some of the most disadvantaged children on the planet.
Regards, James & Jake.
