I have been a keen runner for a number of years and for the last few years the Snowdonia Marathon has stood out to me because it represents such a challenge, the prospect of covering 26.2 miles whilst ascending 840 metres is way beyond any run I've done before. Whilst the experience will no doubt be gruelling I think the sense of achievement is something I will treasure for evermore.

The charity I have chosen to raise funds for is bowel cancer research. I know that many people will have been effected by this disease either directly or indirectly and I know that great progress is being made in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of this potentially fatal disease. Over the last 40 years survival rates have doubled and through further research those rates will doubtless continue to improve.

Any contribution to this cause will be gratefully received.
