Story
On 18th November, Georgia and I will be participating in a 12-hour Bake-Off, with Herefordshire Voluntary Organisation Support Service, (hvoss).
We are raising funds to go towards publishing our BBO (Building Better Opportunities) books, Lockdown Stories, which features all of us volunteers, and the hvoss BBO baking book, which Healthy Food and Goodies, and other brilliant participants feature in.
In the 12-hours, from 8am to 8pm, we will be baking and cooking multiple dishes from breakfast to dinner, with sweet and savoury treats.
The volunteers are each bringing their chosen recipes, in which we will all be making along with each other on Zoom.
Georgia and I will be leading dinner, which will be one of our recipes from Healthy Food and Goodies.
We are also providing slots throughout the day in which family and friends are able to ‘Zoom’ in on the group, and see what we are up to.
Our fundraiser back in summer went down exceptionally for this charity, enabling them to install a new stairlift in the office for those less mobile to be able to use the -1 floor, where there is the hvoss kitchen, and meeting rooms.
The Bake-Off will certainly be a challenge, that all volunteers are ready to face. Like Georgia and I, we all have our own individual barriers we face, from visual impairment to physical challenges.
Any donations and support will be greatly appreciated from the charity and us volunteers.
