The Dalitso Trust has been successfully working in partnership with rural villages in Malawi since 2002. Our focus is on changing lives through development in a sustainable way. We believe change comes through investing ourselves in others, one person at a time. We do this in 3 main ways; Dalitso Health: working with families to create healthy villages Dalitso Leaders: mentoring and equipping local leaders Dalitso Play: pioneering educational play and parenting skills

Story

I am raising money for The Dalitso Trust in Malawi, East Africa and their Happy Faces project.  The Dalitso Trust works in partnership with villages in Malawi to develop the community.

The Happy Faces initiative encourages parents and children to play, interact and learn together through structured play sessions.  Ali Husbands who is helping design the sessions and mentor the play leaders Rhodess and Janet says;

"Children under 5 in Malawi generally receive very little attention and development, so we want to change the culture and  teach mothers how to interact with their children as no-one has ever shown them how.

We will serve mothers by equipping them to play and learn with their children at home, not with physical resources, but with skills and knowledge that they can then take away and adapt to suit their own situation.  I am so thankful for Rhodess and Janet as they are so motivated and capable. " Ali
