Story
My Brother Alex lost his battle with Osteosarcoma on the 17th February 2011, just 5 days after his 22nd birthday, and marriage to his loving wife Ali. Alex wanted to raise awareness, and as much money as possible for the Bone Cancer Research Trust, to try and help others in their fight against this disease. To help try and achieve this goal, I will be taking part in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 on 10 August, and riding 100 miles in a day to raise money for this worthy cause.
Around 450 people are diagnosed with bone cancer each year in the UK and Republic of Ireland, mainly affecting children and young people between the ages of 10 and 24. The most common types of bone cancer are osteosarcoma and Ewing's sarcoma.
BCRT sets out to improve the outcome for people with primary bone cancer through research, awareness, information and support.
As bone cancer is rare, research into primary bone cancer currently gets very little funding from other sources.
So please dig deep and donate now. Thanks.
