London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·

The MPS Society has a great team of runners for the TCS London Marathon 2022 which takes place on Sunday 2nd October. Our runners will be raising money for our members affected by MPS, Fabry and related lysosomal diseases.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am very fortunate and excited to be running the London Marathon on Sunday 2nd October 2022. The goal is to raise £1,700 for the Society for Mucopolysaccharide Diseases (MPS) who support those with Anderson-Fabry Disease - a rare genetic condition that affect members of my immediate family.

Fabry Disease is an inherited condition which affects the heart, kidneys, brain, central nervous system and skin. If left untreated, disease progression can be fatal.

There are treatment options for the disease, however more research is required to support the ongoing trials.

MPS Society is the only UK charity at the forefront of supporting people and families affected by MPS. They offer a wide range of support and resources- both medical and social (such as home adaptions and social care).

Given this cause is so close to my heart, I would appreciate any donation (big or small!) through JustGiving to help MPS support people and families affected by the disease.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

This is the first time I have taken on a challenge of this magnitude, so there are definitely some nerves, so I’m looking forward to keeping you updated over the coming months and hopefully I’ll get to see some familiar faces at the finish line!!
