My Nan died in late January after suffering from Crohn's disease. She had her colon removed and following that suffered from but battled pneumonia and other infections before peacefully passing away. She was a courageous, brave, wonderful, strong and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be sorely missed now and forever.

My Nan had requested that each of her grandchildren donate to Crohn's and Colitis UK but I wanted to do more. I wanted to make her proud. I found the 100k event through the Crohn's and Colitis UK website and since then have joined a local gym and have a running plan to build strength and run the miles in preparation for an event that could take 15 hours to complete.. Please bear in mind that a standard marathon is 42k!!

The South Coast Challenge takes place over the end of August Bank Holiday weekend so I have 6 months to get fit and ready!!
