Story

Hello there! Thank you very much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am doing the Manchester 10km run on 15th May. I have never tried running this far before & am aiming to complete it within an hour. A really tough target considering that my fitness is notoriously bad! As anyone who has played football with me knows, I can't complete a full match of 7-a-side, or even half, usually!

I know you are all inundated with requests for sponsorship but even if you just donate a bit of your loose change, we can raise some money for a very worthy cause.

I am running on behalf of the Nestle Charity of the Year - Alzheimer's Society. The Alzheimer's Society supports people to live well with dementia today and funds research to find a cure for tomorrow.  They rely on voluntary donations to continue their vital work.

Just £5 can pay for someone who suffers from dementia (& their carers) to go to a support group session. £20 can pay for 100 copies of a factsheet providing info on understanding the condition how to respect someone suffering from dementia. £50 can fund a PhD researcher to continue vital research.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
