Story

I’m running the Edinburgh Marathon at the end of May in memory of our mother, Alison Irvine to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

As well as being an incredible mother, partner and friend,  Mum made a huge impact on the lives of so many in her chosen career of social work, rising to become Head of Children and Family Services at Perth and Kinross Council. After retiring in 2014 she also chaired The Domestic Violence Forum in Perth and then the Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (RASAC).

Mum died on the 2nd of August, only 7 weeks after her initial diagnosis. We’re all profoundly grateful for the support Mum and the rest of our family received from the team at Cornhill Macmillan Centre. Macmillan are an amazing charity - if you’d like to support their work, please do leave a donation - thanks to everyone for their encouragement so far!
