Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Recently while walking in our beautiful alps we decided that a beautiful old barn being renovated by our friend Amanda would make the perfect backdrop for an English cream tea...something we all miss a lot!
I had seen a fundraising page in a magazine called 'Tea with the Girls' to raise money for Bloodwise , inspired by the WI's calendar girls (see their story below). It seemed a great idea...eating cake and raising money all in one go!
So we have hatched a plan to bake and eat cake with tea...and a glass of prescecco of course! Inviting our friends to join us in this beautiful setting above Morzine in Haute Savoie. and asking them to make a donation of €15 a person for Bloodwise a very worthy cause.
Invitations and exact location are coming soon!
We understand some of you may not be able to make it, but any contributions would be most welcome.
Thank you
Make tea and make a difference
In 1998, when John Baker, husband of Angela Baker, sadly passed away a few short months after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Angela and her friends set about creating the famous ‘alternative’ Women’s Institute calendar to give themselves something to focus on during this difficult time. Since that first calendar in 1999, the Calendar Girls have continued their amazing fundraising efforts and have raised almost £4 million to date for Bloodwise.
The Calendar Girls’ story is one of hope and friendship. 18 years ago they started something extraordinary to celebrate life and beat blood cancer. Now it’s your turn.
This summer, join other amazing ladies who'll be hosting their own Tea with the Girls to raise funds for life-saving research and patient support.
