Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As a lot of you are already aware our daughter Daisy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in Oct 2015, has recently come to the and of active treatment and remains in remission.
This year our family was nominated to be guests on the Magical Taxi Tour which has taken place each year for the last 25 years. A sea of Black Taxis left Canary Wharf with 100 families, each with a child who has a life threatening or changing illness, over to Paris for a day at Disneyland and for a gala dinner on the Saturday night. Each family had their own cab which was driven by it's owner to Dover to catch the ferry to Calais and then onward bound to Paris. We were put up in a Disney hotel, fed and entertained all weekend and the children were deservedly spoilt rotten. The convoy was escorted by City of London Police and the Gendarmerie Nationale meaning we could stay together for the journey with no hold ups. We were also accompanied by the London Ambulance Service, Medics from the Royal Marsden and Chase Farm hospitals, and the AA. All the staff were there voluntarily all weekend to ensure all the kids were happy, safe and well looked after. This year marked 25 years of this wonderful charity. I can barely put into words what a mind blowing experience it was for us. Everyone we met was so kind, friendly and generous.
I would love for the charity to be able to continue to offer families who really have been to hell and back the chance to have a few days away with these wonderful people at a magical place. I am hoping to raise £1400.00 to cover the running costs for a family to go in our cab in 2019. Please help me raise this by donating anything you can. Smaller charities often get overlooked, but this one really does deserve so much more recognition. Thank you. ❤
