Story
Hi Everyone!!!
I am an Environmental artist living on the small Scottish, Inner Hebridean Island of Colonsay and am taking up the challenge.
I will walk all the way around the rugged coast of Colonsay, about 30 miles over the four days at Easter (April 6 – 10) I am taking it leisurely so I can collect interesting pieces of beach detritus for a unique artwork as a souvenir from the Challenge. I thought I would also try and keep an illustrated diary and document the walk with photographs.
Let’s hope for good weather so at 9.00am on Good Friday I will set off from the Ferry car park at Scalasaig and walk East along the remote and rocky coast to Balnahard Bay at the North. From there after camping on the beach I will continue on to Kiloran Bay and the cliffs of Pigs Paradise on the West gradually descending towards Port Mor Machrins and Ardskenish Bays before heading for home along the Strand opposite the Isle of Oronsay and the more gentle coastline with Cable and Queens Bay to the East of the island.
I cannot wait to see parts of the shore I have never seen before and ultimately raise awareness and money to help the MCS.
