Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Paul, Cerys’ Dad is a work colleague of mine.
Cerys sadly passed away during the summer of 2018 from a rare brain condition known as FIRES. Struck suddenly by this Epilepsy related disease, she was treated over a four week period by the fantastic Paediatric Intensive Care Team at Great Ormond Street Hospital who unfortunately were unable to save her. Great Ormond Street Hospital and the GOSH charity were fantastic to Cerys and her family during her stay with them, offering not just amazing NHS care but also family accommodation and emotional support. Paul & family know that Cerys would have loved to help other families like hers , so have set up her Brighter Futures Fund in conjunction with GOSH. Funds raised will help to cover the costs of things like research, family accommodation and support for those close to children under the care of the hospital. This is my way of trying to help.
