The Marathon Des Sables is a six-day ‘ultra-marathon’ or ‘ultra’ run over 150 to 156 miles (254 kms). But it’s not just the distance that makes it the toughest footrace on the planet.

The terrain is harsh – The heat is intense –  We will carry our packs, but bed down in communal tents each night.

Each stage will present a fresh challenge, with the longest in 2017 stretching a brutal 53.5 miles (86.2 kms). The route and format shift each year, but typical distances for each day are:

Day 1    30.3KM

Day 2    39KM

Day 3    31.6KM

Day 4    86.2KM

Day 5    42.2KM

Day 6    7.7KM

. I am doing this for a really worth Charity, Children's Adventure Farm (CAFT) , this Charity is based in Cheshire and it looks after terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged Children in the North West. It is a farmhouse et in  10 Acres of land and it is the perfect place for deserving children of all abilities to play, laugh and simply enjoy being children. Whether the children are there for a day  or a few days, there is an amazing array of thing to do. They, like any other charity rely on the generous donations from the public so please help me support this wonderful Charity.
