Story
Jean was and still remains a very much loved Sister, Mother, Grand Mother, Great Grand Mother, Friend and Neighbour. She now rests with God and is free from pain.
When Jean suffered a stroke in 2005 she was brave and strong, pulling through and always seeing the good in everything. Even though she couldn't always say what she wanted to, Jean knew exactly what was what and her faith and love for God helped her through the very tough times in Hospital. We remember her usual words which seemed to describe everything she wished to say. These were, "Wonderful", "Beautiful" and "Lovely". Funny how these words were what Jean meant to us!
Jean found out that she had cancer about a year and a half a go and bravely decided not to undergo and treatment. She said that she was now in God's hands.
Jean surpassed the length of time the Doctor said she would survive without treatment of her cancer. After many trips to hospitals Jean came out of hospital and was looked after by carers and her family. She was so pleased to be back home. Never did she moan about the pain or her boredom or whinge to us her family friends and neighbours. She was strong.
Jean died in hospital on Sunday 31st August 2008 aged 84 years. I have set up this website in her honour to help raise money for the research being done today and in the future but also for all her family and friends to remember her by and in the hope that for Jean's Birthday and anniversaries that if we wish to give something we can do so right here. Jean, Gran is very much missed. We continue to love her dearly and pray that she is having her own celebrations in Heaven with God and her family and friends passed before her. We have so many wonderful, beautiful and lovely memories of her and what she did for so many people and the Churches and organisations in Buckhurst Hill.
