Great North Run 2017 · 10 September 2017 ·

Newcastle United Foundation uses passion for football to make a real difference to the lives of local children, young people and families. Every year we work with over 69,000 people across a number of sports, health, education and youth projects.

Story

I stupidly signed up to do the GNR, since then I have torn 2
out of 3 ligaments in my ankle (I don’t have full movement back in my left
ankle…. Do you feel sorry for me?) and sacked off countless training sessions
for beer so this should be fun!

I am running on behalf of Newcastle United Foundation who
help disadvantaged children, young people and families in the North East through
their football, school and community projects. They do amazing work so please
check them out;

A lot of people think that the Foundation is financially supported
by the football club… THEY ARE NOT. They have to raise their own funds
themselves. They have many big named companies that sponsor them (shout out to
First Class Supply who has worked with the Foundation for 5 years) and by
roping innocent people into doing the GNR (like me) and other sponsored events.

If I raise £300, the Foundation will give me 2 tickets to a
Newcastle United home football match – I will pull a name from the people that
have donated and that person will get the tickets

If I raise £400, the Foundation will also give me a bottle
of gin… Of which I will keep myself, I did the run, not you!

Please donate to this wonderful cause.

Thanks, JJx
