Hello everyone, I’m doing something crazily out of my comfort zone and would really appreciate any support you can give, no matter how small 

I am running a half marathon (the Great North Run) on the 8th September for the Porch and to prove to myself that I can do what I set my mind to, even though I usually doubt myself. 

The Porch Day Centre is an wonderful organisation in oxford that offers a safe space for those who are homeless or vulnerably housed. They also support clients by providing advice for more stable future such as job opportunities and benefits. Whilst volunteering I was struck by the strong sense of community between the clients and the enthusiasm and kindness of the staff. It felt like a little family in there. Even though I only volunteered there for a short time (although I’m going to be going back whenever I can) I grew extremely attached to the friendly faces and welcoming environment and would love to do my bit to keep helping them with the brilliant work they do. 

If you have read this far of my ramble thank you. many of you will know I really am not a runner and this is a huge challenge for me that I am terrified about.
