Story
I am running my first half marathon on the 29th of March 2020 in Sheffield. I am raising money for Kidney Cancer UK to help fund crucial research, alongside providing support to patients and families.
Kidney (renal) cancer is now the 7th most common type of cancer in the UK, with 12,900 new cases being diagnosed every year. My dad was diagnosed with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC) last year and has been battling it ever since, alongside having multiple complications as a result of the cancer. I have experienced first-hand the utmost importance of patient support and communication.
I aim to run my first half marathon in 2 hours or less, even though since I have never ran further than 5k in my life this might be ambitious!
