I have always had a contemptuous relationship with exercise until I discovered Zumba! When COVID hit, I decided to become certified to teach Zumba and I love it! Whether I'm instructing a class or just doing it on my own, it just feels like I'm dancing. Zumba is a Latin inspired fitness program combining all styles of dance that provide participants a whole-body workout. I never imagined I would ever enjoy cardio!
I'm a person in long term recovery and for me that not only means almost 15 years of abstinence from alcohol and drugs but additionally, it means that I am committed to learning about and engaging in a variety of holistic activities that help me maintain my overall wellness and push me to grow in mind, body and spirit. Zumba has become a vital part of my recovery process.
You don't have to "know how to dance" or be "coordinated" (excuses I hear often) to try Zumba, you only need to be able to move your body. There are a variety of alterations that can be easily adapted to fit anyone's comfort level. So, why not give it a try?
Join me at Ashley Addiction Treatment Center in Havre de Grace, MD on July 23rd at 1130 am for Zumba!
