JGL Loch Ness relay · 31 July 2023

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

We are six training buddies who met through Aspire. Endurance swimming is the glue that binds our friendship. We train regularly at the Jesus Green lido.

JGL Nessies last week took 13h 26m to swim the length of Loch Ness, travelling "down" through the night from Lochend to Fort Augustus. We arrived on 1 August at about 2pm.

I am keen to raise as much as I can for Aspire, a charity that does so much to help people get their lives in order. Please, I would love it if you can help me with that.
