The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

Having known Iain, Yvonne and family circle all my life living in Garvagh. Whilst watching Iain and his guide dog Mac building a rapport and whilst learning a new way of living has given Iain a new lease of life as he is now able to go out to the beautiful forest for his daily walks, attend church and go to the local supermarket. I’ve watched Iain at the traffic lights in Garvagh Main Street and was amazed by how  Mac was able to support Iain by keeping him safe and leading him to his destination. had the pleasure of meeting Mac personally a few nights ago and realised the importance of having a guide dog which has had a positive effect on Iain and Yvonne’s life and has also aided socialisation.

I’m running the Belfast City marathon on 1st May in aid of raising money for Guidedogs Northern Ireland.
