Jim Evans Boxing Icon 1935 - 2021
This page is dedicated to the charity Prostate Cancer UK but there is also another page for the charity Ringside Charitable Trust for ex boxers if you would prefer to donate here: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/jimevans-boxingiconringside
Sadly Jim passed away on February 27th after suffering from prostate cancer. He was looked after by his sons Graham and Justin and their wives for the last couple of months at his home.
Jim has always had a love of boxing having started the sport as a schoolboy and retiring at the age of 29. He settled in Maidenhead with his wife Georgina and started a family.
Boxing was always a passion and having qualified as a trainer built ‘Jim’s Gym’ in his garden and went on to be a successful manager. It was only after the death of his beloved wife that he scaled back his involvement in the sport.
Jim has always had a great love of his family, a sense of humour, inbuilt decency and has a reputation as an inspirational and dedicated mentor to all his boxers.
Due to the COVID restrictions there will be a private cremation but all donations are very welcome in Jim’s memory.
Many Thanks.
