We help veterans and their families to live the life they deserve after service

Story

I am running the Edinburgh Marathon on 27 May 18 to raise money for the Captain David Seath Memorial Fund.

David served with the 19th Regiment Royal Artillery  in Afghanistan in 2012 as part of Herrick 16 before going on to complete the All Arms Commando Course to earn the coveted Green Beret. He then served in 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery as a Fire Team Support Commander. He was also from my home town of Dunfermline and was a few years below me at St Columbas High School, although we never actually met.

On the 24 April 16 David tragically died whist running the London Marathon - 3.2 miles short of the finishing line.

David was deeply passionate in terms of supporting the positive health and well-being of the soldiers under his command as well as veterans living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This passion ultimately led to his decision to run the 2016 London Marathon in support of Help for Heroes.

His family have shown great courage in dealing with this tragedy by setting up the Captain David Seath Memorial Fund to continue raising money for the cause that David was so passionate about.

The Captain David Seath Memorial Fund has raised over £276,000 and provided over two-hundred and fifty welfare grants to personnel and veterans of the British Armed Forces living with life-changing physical injuries and psychological trauma through Help for Heroes.
