We fund suicide prevention training to reduce teenage suicide rates in the UK

Story

On Sunday 7th May, I will be completing the Great Birmingham half marathon in aid of teenage mental health, a cause that is very important to me and many of my friends.

I am using my fitness to raise money for the Oli Leigh Trust, a charity which supports teen mental health and suicide prevention.

Each year, way too many young people heart-breakingly take their own lives, and I believe that this can be prevented in the future if we teenagers were given better support. Tragically, Oli Leigh took his own life in 2018 aged only 16. I am therefore so proud to be teaming up with The Oli Leigh Trust, which provides funds to support organisations working in this area.

Whilst running 23km won’t be easy, I am training hard each day and want to do all I can to raise awareness for mental health. Any donation will be greatly appreciated, see you at the finish line.

The Oli Leigh Trust has been established to raise funds and make grants to organisations working to reduce teenage suicide rates in the UK. Suicide among young people aged 10-24 is at a 19-year high and is rising every year. Training can make a difference. Suicide is preventable not inevitable.
