Story
The STAGGERING REALITY is 58% of Londoners in POVERTY live in a WORKING FAMILY.
We will wear the same black dress/outfit for 5 consecutive days to illustrate the effects of poverty on a woman's access to resources, professional opportunities, and negative impact on self-worth.The Little Black Dress Initiative "LBDI" is a week long, social-media driven advocacy campaign that uses the iconic "Little Black Dress" to raise awareness about poverty and raise funds to support the work we do. Since its creation in London, LBDI has raised over £100,000 in London and the LBDI campaign has expanded to over 40 Junior League locations across the United States and Canada! The positive impact of this global initiative is a testament to Junior League's mission to promote voluntary service, develop the potential of women and improve our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Please support us in our fundraising efforts! #teamLBDI #JLLBoardLBDI
