Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Ben, my 8yr old son, wishes to take part in the 5k Rainbow Run in Hamsterley Forest in order to raise funds for the hospice in which his father, my husband, will receive the care and support required to fulfil his end of life plan. Unfortunately, Simon, Ben's dad has recently been diagnosed with Stage IV lung, bone and liver cancer at the age of 48. As a clean living person this has devasted our family so both Ben and I would be extremely grateful for any contribution you may wish to make in order to support the work of this fantastic hospice and its staff. Thank you in advance from Ben and I.

So, today Ben is competing in the Big Butterwick Ride. This is a 26 mile bike ride organised by the Butterwick Hospice in a bid to raise funds.
On the 3rd August this year Ben's daddy sadly lost his life to cancer at the age of just 48. Ben and I were devasted.
Because of the fantastic care and ongoing support the staff at the Butterwick Hospice have offered us and many other families Ben, at age 8, has taken it upon himself to continue his fundraising efforts and has pledged, in his lifetime, to raise a massive 1,000,000. Pounds Thanks to you guys he has already achieved just short of 9000 pounds in the 3 months since he began. As a result of this he has been nominated for an award of Young Charity Champion of the year and has been shortlisted to the top 3 with the final result to be announced on the 8th October.
I know times are difficult and forgetting Ben's award to concentrate on the fundraising for the Butterwick, Ben and I would be extremely grateful for any sponsorship you would be happy to make. It really does make a difference in giving those we love the best care for those last days.
Cancer shows no mercy and at the Butterwick every moment really did count.
Tears in my eyes as I thank you in advance.
Jo & Ben

Hi again,
Well it's come to that time of year again whereby Ben and I are about to take part in this years Rainbow Dash in order to raise funds for the Butterwick Hopsice.
This time last year although very poorly, Simon was able to come along and support as we participated in the 5K run in Hamsterley Forest where we ended up covered in paint!!
Sadly as most of you will be aware Simon lost his fight in August last year however it is Ben's mission to continue in his fundraising, which in 10 months is now at nearly 11 thousand pounds.
Please dig deep and support him in his journey
Many thanks
Jo & Ben
