RNIB Double Dash 5k · 11 May 2019 ·

Double Dash is our brand new 5k fun run. Inspired by blind people running with guides this is our unique spin on a classic 5k, where you sign up with a partner to double up and run connected.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you will know, my brother Matthew sadly lost his sight earlier this year. At the end of January we received the news that we had all been dreading - that he was to be registered blind.

However, my baby brother has handled this life changing event with grace, dignity - and the good old Jenkins stubbornness. The Royal National Institute of Blind People was not a charity I’d thought about previously, now we are all too aware of the amazing work they do. So this year, on May 11th, they are hosting their first 5K event in Regents Park called the ‘Double Dash’, a race where you run ‘tethered’’ to your partner and Phoebe and I are giving it a go! Lord help me with her coordination and our height difference!

We have pledged to raise £250 - however we would love to raise as much as we can. £530 can run the helpline for one hour so people like my brother can get the help and support they need.

Thanks for taking the time to read. All donations gratefully recieved! Xx
