Story
My name is Joanna and I was inspired to take on the cycling challenge because I lost an important person in my life, someone who was strong, someone who I loved …..my grandmother.
As I have moved away from my home town and wasn’t able to visit my grandma as often as I would like to, I had often spoken to her over the phone. I admired her bravery as despite the pain she would never complain and remained strong throughout her fight against this cruel
illness.
I want to do this challenge to honour my grandmother and also to raise cancer awareness and to support the vital research into the causes and treatment possibilities.
My training will involve daily routes to work and back of a distance between 7 and 13 miles one way and then longer rides over the weekend.
Whilst preparing for the challenge will be really tough I am so excited about the opportunity to raise money for good cause and I am inspired by a very strong woman – my grandmother.
“The struggle isn’t the signal to stop, but a sign to keep going”
I hope that by taking up this challenge I can inspire more people to help support the cause.
Thank you all for taking the time to read my story.
If you could donate to the cause, every bit counts and is immensely appreciated. Let’s do this for those who’ve we’ve lost and for those who are still fighting and staying strong.
Together we can make a change.
