Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Over the last 25 years through different roles, I  have worked with laryngectomy patients. A condition that is rarely spoken about in the media. A group of patients that have lost their voice and become neck breathers. I have met so many amazing people. The support given by NALC is invaluable.

NALC support laryngectomy patients and their families around
the country.

The charity was established in 1975 and have been self-funding since 2015. Up until the start of the lockdown last March they managed
to keep their head above water however once the country went into lockdown all
fundraising stopped. The Charity’s funds are now at a point that if they are unable to secure enough to keep them afloat, they will have to close in September.

This will be a huge loss to both clinicians, patients, and their families. For those that are unaware a laryngectomy is the surgical
removal of the larynx, the portion of your throat that houses your voice box. It will affect speaking, breathing & swallowing.

Kapitex Healthcare have sponsored the skydive. Allowing me to raise must needed funds.  Please support me and help keep this charity going

About the charity

The association was formed in 1976 with the objective to promote the welfare and rehabilitation of laryngectomy patients and their families. To be of assistance to those professionals working in the field of laryngectomy. NALC collects and disseminates relevant information and has an education programme which includes seminars for both patients and professionals. The association offers various services including counselling and a help and referral service. NALC has an extensive range of literature and DVD’s. We support relevant studies and clinical trials in their application for funding. Our members contribute by reviewing patient leaflets and joining steering committees.
