Lands End to Sheffield - Bike Ride VI, the ride of DOOM · 17 January 2020

Grief Encounter aims to relieve the emotional distress of bereaved children, young people and their families. We help by developing and promoting resources and by raising public awareness of bereavement issues for children. No-one can wave a magic wand but Grief Encounter can help the journey.

Story

Every year for the past 5 years a group of us at Aviva have been cycling various roads of the country, getting bigger and sillier each year.....

Year 1 was a straight forward 60 mile jaunt, year 2 ramped it up to 90 miles and year 3 100. In year 4 we started to get silly, with a 2 day Sheffield - Norwich trip (170 miles) and last years we went full on crazy with 360 miles from Perth to Sheffield. In the true olympic spirit of faster, higher, stronger.....we're bumping it up to 400 from Lands End to Sheffield, all in the name of charity and painful agony.

Due to CV19 issues - we've had to cancel the travel element of this, but have recreated the routes locally and will be covering the same distance and elevation over the same time frame, all whilst socially distancing and complying with the govt 'guidelines' (better than SPADs anyway....)
