Story
Nola to Angola is an annual 170-mile bicycle ride fundraiser. Funds raised will support the long-term viability and expansion of the Cornerstone Builders Bus Project, which provides free transportation for people to visit their incarcerated loved ones in Angola and six other detention centers across the state of Louisiana.
Louisiana is one of the most incarcerated places in the world. Studies and first-hand accounts indicate that keeping family connected while family members are incarcerated helps people successfully reintegrate when they are released, and the Cornerstone Builders Bus Project takes direct action to get this done.
We are observing social distancing this year in light of Covid-19, so the ride is not taking place over the normal 3-day weekend. Instead, I'll be biking 170 miles (and then some) over the month of October. You can follow my progress toward completing this target on this page, which is linked to my Strava account.
Nola to Angola remains entirely volunteer-run, so almost all of your donation goes directly to Cornerstone's bus program.
