Having lost three friends to different forms of cancer in the past three months, I wanted to do something practical to support the great work which Macmillan Cancer Support are doing.

I estimated that it will take me 93 minutes to complete the 500m swim, 20k cycle and 5k run of the North West Triathlon on 2 September, but with your help it would all be worth it.

Please remember that this is the first time in over 20 years that I've asked for money to support a sporting event, and it's my first tri since I received my Senior Railcard!
