Story
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have set up this page to support a charity close to my heart whilst attempting something that I may later regret.
I set out originally to complete The Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge which is a 100km/ 62 mile walk around the coast of the Island at the end of April. Starting early morning and walking through the night until I eventually stumble or crawl over the finishing line hopefully the next day. As many of you may know, this didn’t quite go to plan when mum had major surgery and it took a turn for the worse, meaning I had to rush to her side in Southampton.
I am so humbled by the generosity of your donations that I feel I must complete this challenge anyway without the organisers. I will instead walk the Islands coastal paths which are 71 miles plus probably a fair but extra due to land slips and closures. I will begin on Friday 28th July and hopefully finish between 1-3pm on Saturday 29th at The Salix Beach Cafe in Shanklin - please come and cheer me on if you can, or carry me over the line!
My charity of choice is the Mountbatten Hospice who gave us wonderful help, support and advice when my father was needing end of life care and they helped us to keep our wish of supporting him at home until the end.
I know that this won’t be the only time that we need them and we are grateful to have them so close by at a desperate time of need.
Please help me to help them and spare a little if you can, but if you can’t, then please don’t feel any pressure at all.
