Story

Done it!!!  It's not too late to sponsor me, please donate using the button below.

Many thanks to all who have donated already, and told their friends.  I am delighted with the response, and so is our refurbishment project team.  There was a great turnout for the men@stmatts lunch, and Campbell Ewan (the George Street barber) did a good job of shaving off my moustache.  Think I'll leave it like this for a wee while as everyone says I look 10 years younger.

As you may know, I'm John Spence, member and elder of St. Matthew's Church of Scotland, member of the Iona Community, Orcadian, and a weel kent face as I hurtle around Perth in my mobility scooter.

St. Matthew's Church has given me love and acceptance, many, many friends, lots to do, and it is very dear to my heart.  St. Matthew's is raising funds for a major refurbishment to make our church fit for the 21st century.  Because of my cerebral palsy, I'm not able to do a sponsored walk or cycle, but I volunteered to have my moustache shaved off at a soup lunch organised by our Men's Group on Sunday, 7 November.  I've been very attached to my 'tache for 45 years.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money (less their commission) directly to St. Matthew's and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now!  Many thanks and God bless,

John
