Story
I have been a type one diabetic for 23 years. Mad that. But true. I was 11 years old and although I had a cousin who was also diabetic I had no idea what was ahead of me. I’ve seen the ups downs and all around of this horrific chronic disease and recently went through diabetic retinopathy after a brief stint with leukemia.
So, I want to give back.
That’s why I am running 100k in the month of May for diabetes UK.
Just to add some spice…. I also have a brother and sister with type one and a best friend. So anything we can do to help these people who I care about and others who get this actual diagnosis have better care and one day (come on eledon) a functional cure is worth the effort.
